In 1972, three young gentlemen decided that the Pyrates confraternity had failed them and left and formed a new confraternity to upend all the wrong doings the Pyrates had come to embrace and symbolise

Late Dr. Bolaji Carew

Late Dr. Bolaji Carew played a significant role in the formation of the buccaneers’ confraternity. In 1972, he championed the cause that led to the exit of those fine gentlemen who were tired of the downward turn the pyrates confraternity had taken.

When BC was formed in 1972, Bolaji became it’s pioneer leader and appointed Tunde Jawando as his second in command.

After his days on campus, Bolaji followed through to give guidance to the young men upon whose shoulders the continuity of the confraternity was rested.

Late Tunde Jawando

Alongside Bolaji Carew, Tunde Jawando was at the fore of the cause that championed the birth of the buccaneers’ confraternity in 1972. As a result of the significant role he played at the time, he was appointed as second in command to Bolaji Carew.

It is worthy of note that both men – Bolaji Carew and Tunde Jawando – maintained a cordial relationship all through their lives. Furthermore, they remained perfect illustrations of fine gentlemen within their immediate environment and the society at large.
